Breaking: Giants Fire Head Coach Ben McAdoo and General Manager Jerry Reese

12/4/2017

Earlier today, the New York Giants fired head coach Ben McAdoo and General Manager Jerry Reese in the midst of a 2-10 season. Ben McAdoo, who is being fired during his second year as the head coach of the Giants, faced lots of backlash after deciding to bench future hall of fame quarterback Eli Manning last week after the Giants had been underperforming in their past games. In the mean time, Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo will be the interim head coach, and it will be his decision on whether or not to bring Eli back.

Penguins Win Stanley Cup

6/14/2016

In Game 6 of the 2016 Stanley Cup Finals, the Pittsburgh Penguins topped the San Jose Sharks, 3-1, which gave the Penguins the Stanley Cup victory. The Penguins had taken 2 games from the Sharks, a 2-0 series, when the Sharks won and made the series 2-1. The Penguins won again, the series 3-1, the Penguins needing only 1 more victory to be champions. But the Sharks didn't give up, winning Game 5 and sending the series into a Game 6. The Penguins won the Cup, but it wasn't a surprise that the Penguins won. The Sharks were able to keep close with the Penguins, but in the end, the Penguins were the stronger team.

Villanova Wins National Championship

4/5/2016

Last night, the Villanova Wildcats pulled off an amazing victory against the North Carolina Tar Heels in the NCAA Basketball Championship. This game was going to be close from the beginning, where both teams played equally. Throughout the game, no team pulled ahead by a lot. The farthest the got from each other through the whole game was 10 points, which was in the 2nd half. The game started getting really close near the end, and when it was a tie game with 6 seconds left, North Carolina tied the game. Villanova called a timeout. They threw the ball in to Ryan Arcidiacono, who passed it to Kris Jenkins. And with 1 second left on the clock, Jenkins shot ball. The ball landed right in the hoop, giving Villanova the win in one of the most spectacular finishes for a championship game.

Broncos Upset Panthers

2/8/2016

The Denver Broncos upset the Carolina Panthers in a spectacular Super Bowl 50. The Panthers had a very good chance of winning this game, and the Broncos had a smaller chance, which was due to NFL MVP QB Cam Newton on the Panthers, who is big, fast, and has a great arm. But people didn't take into account how amazing the Denver defense was. And, on almost all occasions, great defense beats great offense. The Broncos received the kick and settled for a field goal, and then both teams were forced to punt. The Panthers got the ball for the second time, this time inside their own 20. on the third play of the drive, Broncos' defensive end Malik Jackson recovered a ball striped from Cam Newton and returned it for a touchdown. After 2 more punts, the Panthers broke through in the second for a touchdown. The Broncos were able to get a field goal, but the game stayed the same up until the half, 13-7. Both teams scored a field goal in the second half, but to finish it off, the Broncos scored a with three minutes to go, also converting a two-point conversion to go up by 14. The Panthers punted, and then, before you knew it, it was probably the last time Peyton manning stepped on the field. The Broncos punted, and then the game ended, Broncos champions.

Super Bowl MVP: Denver Oustide Linebacker (OLB) Von Miller

Fact: Peyton manning broke the record of 199 wins set by Brett Favre with a 200th win in the Super Bowl.

Crimson Tide Rolls On

1/12/2016

In a very tight game that was won only at the end, No. 2 Alabama won in the College Football Championship over No. 1 Clemson. Nick Saban has never lost in this game in his whole career, dating back to his first win in 2003 with LSU. He, in total, has won 5 championships. (Note: Saban has won 4 BCS Championships and one CFP Championship.) When the game was tied 24-24, Alabama kicked an onside kick that worked, and from there, Alabama took the game, but won by a bit. The final score was an intense 45-40, a great game by both sides, a College Football Championship we won't be seeing for a little while.

2 Big Upsets

12/27/2015

On Sunday, the Jets were able to upset the Patriots in overtime. The Jets were in the lead, 20-13, before the end of the game, but Tom Brady connected with James White for a touchdown, sending the game into overtime. The Patriots won the toss in overtime, but they made a bad move, and they differed and kicked off. The Jets were able to march down the field and score a game-winning touchdown on a pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Eric Decker.
The second upset on Sunday was the Falcons over the undefeated Panthers. Going into this game, the Panthers were 14-0 and the Falcons were 7-7. The Falcons had started out 5-0, but had a losing streak to significantly lower their record. The Panthers scored the first points on a Cam Newton rushing touchdown, but Atlanta running back Devonta Freeman scored a touchdown to tie the game. The Panthers scored a field goal which put them up by 3, but Matt Ryan connected to Julio Jones for a 70 yard touchdown. The Panthers would only score a field goal more and the Falcons would score 2 field goals, breaking the Panthers streak.

2 Left... Who Will Stay Undefeated?

11/22/2015

Every team but 2 have won all of their games. Those 2 are the New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers won in a blow out of the Redskins in Sunday's 1:00 game to boost them to 10-0. The Patriots have a chance to do that if they beat the Bills on Monday night in Foxboro. But of these 2 teams, who will go the farthest undefeated? At this point, the answer lies in their schedules. The next games for the Panthers are Cowboys on the road, Saints on the road, Falcons at home, Giants on the road, Falcons on the road, and Buccaneers at home. That looks like an easy schedule, but the Patriots start out with the Bills at home tomorrow, their toughest one will be the week after against the Broncos on the road, but then it's Eagles at home, Texans on the road, Titans at home, Jets on the road, and Dolphins on the road. So who do I think will be the last to be undefeated? I think it will be the Panthers because the Panthers don't have any strong teams on their schedule, but they will lose. The Patriots, though, have a tough game against the Broncos on the road, but after that they should g back to winning.

Prediction:
Panthers- 15-1
Patriots- 15-1

Champions of the World!

11/2/2015

The World Series has ended after 5 games, and this year, the Royals topped the Mets 4 games to 1. The Royals were deserving of this years World Series after they lost in a competitive, 7 game World Series last year to the Giants. This year, they wasted a ton of Mets pitchers arms by just hitting the ball foul or getting small hits. The Royals did well, but it was the Mets that helped the Royals win the World Series, committing 6 errors during the World Series. In game 5, the Royals were down 2-0 going into the 9th inning, but Matt Harvey came back out and let up a walk and then another hit that made that run score. When it was 1-2, it was too late for Jeurys Familia, as he let in the tying run. In the top of the 12th, Addison Reed let up a walk, which made Jarrod Dyson, one of the speediest guys in baseball, on first. Jarrod Dyson stole second and then Alex Gordon grounds out, which gets Dyson to 3rd. After that, pinch hitter Christian Colon hit a a line drive to left that landed in front of Michael Conforto, and that scored the go-ahead run. In that inning, 4 more runs would score and Bartolo Colon would come into pitch. The Mets couldn't strike back in the bottom of the 12th, and the Royals won the World Series. Luckily, though, the Mets weren't even supposed to make the playoffs without one of their best pitchers, Zach Wheeler. That will give them more experience for next year so they will be able to make the playoffs and maybe even get back to the World Series.

The Championship Series'

10/19/2015

Now that the championship series' have started, we should have a look. In the American League, the Bluejays are facing the Royals. The Royals started strong at home, taking the first 2 games. Going into tonight, playing in Toronto tonight, the Royals are leading the series, 2-0. In the National League, the Cubs are facing the Mets. After the Mets 2nd baseman Daniel Murphy hit first at-bat homeruns at home in the number 3 hole, the Mets jumped over the Cubs to a 2-0 series lead. This series is going to Chicago on Tuesday.

Prediction

ALCS: The Royals will keep up their pace, only dropping one game in Toronto, and they will take the series in Game 5 in Toronto.

NLCS: The Mets will struggle in Chicago, taking 1 of 3 games, but their early 2-0 lead will bring them back home, where they will finish off the Cubs in Game 6.
